Nokia has a new flip up on its page here in phonescoop..6101/6102 which will have the 850 band for Cingular..seems like a good alternative to the V551..
...
looks interesting....i dunno. i got used to nokia being the bar phone makers. they got good at it. branching off into flip style might be a blunder. but who knows? they could be the leader in that type of phone as well.
...
I think that nokia couldn't go on without breaking into the market, although from the looks of their new phones, it seems that they aren't the greatest lookers of the bunch lol.
...
I should correct that statement..the new nokia flips aren't ugly they are just unique. The 2651...I'm not sure if I love it, or if I hate it. But the 7270 is quite the looker.
...
That new one that is coming out looks quite nice..I have the 6620 and am waiting on the 6682..I am not one of those that "gotta have a flip" but if they put the features of the 6620/6682 in a flip, then it will so be mine lol
...
I think they have made flip phones for European, Asian and African markets, just not the U.S. up until now..
...
Actually it wasn't until the past 12 months that they started relaunching flip phones... The last flip they had out was the Nokia 282, which was hot for the time it was out, but none since because up until recently other parts of the world really did not car if the phone flipped or not... The just wanted it to work.
...
well nokias bar phones have always been.....orignal in design. especially the keypads....they got some weird looking keypads on some of there phones. but i suppose there is only so much you can do with a flip phone design....
...
I wish someone would just blow us all away with a unique flip phone. The new Nokia's are little different, but not quite there yet. The RAZR seems to be the closest thing to being unique as far as flips go.
...
meh. they all have the same features basicly....bottom half with keypad...top half with screen...antenae in the back...keys are sometimes set up kinda funky....cameras....but in general same design. its all a matter of placment. but i agree. i would love to see a WORKING phone that actually retains signal, is affordable to anyone, and is a completly revoultionary flip design. that would rock. the moto a630 came close.... or was it the 360? anyway the one thats a bar phone....and flips open sideways to reveal qwerty keypad and color screen. that one was pretty cool.
...
But the keypad design always (or at least for the most part) always seems to work alot better than it looks..
