brandyT

Is AT&T planing some more aggressive pricing plans in this tough economy and ever increasing competitive market? Two of my friends have jumped ship in the past few months, one went to TMO and the other to Boast unlimited. Usually i would not care what anybody does, but now it is costing me mins. to talk to them since they are on different network.

It's hard to tell. Usually AT&T likes to follow Verizon. Once the $29.99 price plans disappeared years ago I said they would never come back but who knows now.

Actually you can get the 29.99 plan with AT&T. I use to have it. You have to call into the retention department because only they have access to it.

The 29.99 plan gives you 200 whenever minutes with 1000 night and weekend minutes, so it is perfect for people who don't use a lot of minutes. There is no rollover for this plan though.

The $29.99 plan is still available through retailers to customers 65 and older.

(Technically, it's available to anyone, but AT&T adds the 65+ stipulation to keep customers away from asking for the plan 😛 )

Also true, but they do audit those accounts and kick you from the plan if your not 65+. I had a customer get kicked after getting the plan at Radioshack.

Retention has alot of things. When speaking of marketing pricing they are generally ignored.
