Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic - data plan or media net?
Can anyone say wil 100% certainty which one AT&T requires on this phone for data use...MediaNet or a smartphone dataplan?
...
So...no one here knows?
...
Since the phone has the OSS operating system, I would guess that the data plan would have to be added, not Media Net.

It's a consumer (not Enterprise) device, with little to no potential for Enterprise functionality. Just because it's running S60 doesn't mean it's PDA - the 6650 and the N75 before that were both S60 but were considered MediaNet devices.
Unless you're trying to access a corporate mail server, you'll be fine with MediaNet.

This is true, I stand corrected.

Hasn't the rule always been basically if it has a text keypad and an os it's not gonna be media net? If it only has one of the above ie matrix, n75, propel, 6650, slate then media net is fine?
...
That's waht I was going by when I gave my original answer.

Pretty much any non-att branded device that's unlocked will just get the MEdia Net, unless the phone needs something like enterprise data or blackberry internet service.
