Cingular v. T-Mobile network
I have been a T-Mobile customer for a little over 1 year. Service has been fairly good for the most part and my rate plan is great...$99.00 for 5000 anytime, anywhere minutes, no roaming charges or LD. Cingular also has some great new plans, which I could piggyback my wife's phone to and expense both off for work, saving me $$$. The question is, how does the Cingular GSM network compare to the T-Mobile network? Some Cingular rep at a mall Kiosk tried to tell me the Cingular GSM network wa smuch larger than the T-Mobile network, but I was very skeptical. I am based in Atlanta, and travel all over the east coast for business and out west (i.e Vegas) 3-4 times per year. My only complaints with T-Mobile have been poor reception near the beach areas of S. Florida, some poor reception in Vegas and poor reception on the first floor of my house, but the reception on the top 2 floors is fine. Any input would be appreciated

If you look at the maps, Cingular has a much larger network than T-Mobile. T-Mobile only uses 1900mhz throughout it's network. Cingular uses 850 and 1900 bands to give you a lot more coverage.

Cingular's GSM network is a HELL of a lot larger than T-mobile's. I wouldnt be surprised to see T-mobile fall out of the picture within a year or two anyways.
