LG Xenon, Samsung Impression, or Samsung Eternity?

These are the three phones I've narrowed things down to. I honestly don't need anything special. I really will only use the phone for making calls and texting. So I suppose I'm looking for the phone with the best call reception, easiest texting, and the highest durability. The last one (durability) is probably the most important. If I'm going to be locked into a contract with this phone for 2 years, I'm going to need it to remain functional throughout.

Also, I would like it to have a good calendar with alarms, scheduling, adding notes, etc. I tend to use my phone as a planner of sorts, so I need it to have these features. I've read the manuals for the two Samsungs, but I can't seem to find the Xenon manual (none of the downloads work). Th...

I forgot to mention that I can get the Eternity and Xenon each for free through Amazon, but the Impression would be an extra $50. So, the Impression would need to be worth that extra $50 over the other two in order for me to go for that one.

My daughter has the Eternity, and it is a very solid handset.

The Impression has the bennefit of a static keyboard, so if you text a lot...1000+/month...it is definately worth the extra $50.

The Xenon seems to be a solid unit. Touch screen is solid. Keyboard is a little small for me.

Durability IMHO goes to the Eternity. Impression is second, then the Xenon.

All quick messaging devices require $20 worth of text or data for the rebate to be valid. without it, your rebate will be returned.

You've purchased from Amazon, att_insider?

I didn't read anywhere that you need to have any sort of texting or data plan. There isn't a rebate involved at all. It's just the normal $0.01 price.

Just to correct one misconception, you do not have to have a data plan in purchasing any of these phones. Howver, all 3 have 3G speed, GPS, Cellular Video, and the ability to do some email. If you wish to do any of those, you can get the Unlimited Data plan at $15/mo, $10/mo if on a Family Plan with Family Unlimited Messaging.

As far as phones themselves, I am very impressed with the Impression (no pun intended). The screen is outstanding and I like the bigger slide out keyboard. Second, would be the Eternity, which has all of the features of the Impression, plus Mobile TV for live broadcast in areas where there is Media Flo. I am not a fan of texting on a touchscreen, but the screen is good and the TV and GPS work well with this phone. ...
