I'm currently (and always have been) paying month-to-month with another service provider using one of their standard phone plans. This is NOT the pay-as-you-go deals, but a regular phone plan. I've never had a contract with them. I just bought a cheapish phone off of eBay and started service without subsidizing a phone from them and thus not needing a contract.

Can this be done with AT&T as well? I have a Cingular branded Motorola phone that my girlfriend gave me. Can I take this into an AT&T store and get setup with a standard phone plan (the $39.99/450 minutes plan) and just pay month-to-month without a contract?
