Family Plan - Multiple Households

My wife and I are considering the switch from Verizon to AT&T specifically for the iPhone. Her mother offered to put us on their existing Family share plan they have through AT&T. This raised a few questions I had in my mind.

They don't currently have a corporate discount, would I still be able to apply my Disney corporate discount?

Will my wife and I get the new user purchase price on the iPhone 3GS 16gb ($199)?

Any other concerns one might have over doing this?

We live close by to her family, so any distance concerns are avoided.

Thanks!

No, cause you'd have to be the account holder to have your corporate discount on YOUR account. ☹️

Absolutely! You'll qualify for the new customer's price.

Well, if you have a different area code, you won't be able to start service. As all phone numbers on the account have to be in the same area code or city. I would suggest that you start y...

You can have different area codes on the same account if they are in the same market.

You can even have different area codes from different markets on the same account, you just need someone cool enough to do it.

No you can't. All numbers on a new family plan need to be local to the zip code of the billing information. You can no longer start a family plan with multiple area codes attached. With this being said, you also wouldn't be able to transfer a number from one area code to a family plan in a different area code.

Incorrect....

I have an individual NBI family talk plan. West Texas and Dallas market numbers on the same plan.

It can be done. What do you think those customers do, who have a line on a corporate NBI account and leave the business. If said business electes to have the employee take over the line. The TOS team is required to set up an individual NBI plan.

It is not rocket science.

The phone numbers just have to be in the same market, even without the NBI. For instance, Dallas has 3 area codes, Ft Worth, has at least 2, there are 2 in Denton, and another area code in far North Texas in the Sherman area, and Waco has its area code. All of these are in the DFW market and any can be mixed in a family plan. So if a member of a family lives in one area code of a market and the rest live in another, there should be no problem adding them together. It is only when you go outside of your marked that you have to go to the NBI (business) department to create this kind of family plan.
