I have had att for a year. But for the past 3-4 months service has been really crappy! Ive been in areas with completely no service! I called customer care and escalated it to account serivces where they told me that the towers in my area have been going through upgrades and that they should have been completed. I ask why am I getting no service in areas that are stated have service she told me that it was probly my phone and that she would give me an early upgrade if I extend my contract for 2 more years! Ive been test driving verizon for the past 2 1/2 weeks and service has been great! coverage everywhere! Now the question still stands upgrade for 2 more years with att and see what happens or cancel and say hello to verizon???

Also i ha...

If it seems as Verizon is working good in your area, switch. Im sure you have 3G service too.

Get a Go Phone and see how the service is. I know you can get a phone for like 20.00 at walmart.

Thats what i said. If the CSR was saying its his phone, then let him get a Go Phone and see if it really is.

He can put his SIM card in the Go Phone and see how it does.

As I write this I’m fully aware that I may have to eat crow (I STRESS MAY) based on some of my past posts.

But I say hang in there if you indeed want to stay with ATT. As you can read from the 2nd post I had run into trouble with ATT’s 3G coverage. Called them…blah, blah, blah typical stuff.
A month later.
Can’t remember why but the other day I took the SIM card out of my laptop connect card and put it into an old ATT smart phone I have and took it to my dead zone (work) and to my surprise I had 3G coverage, surfed the net…3G co...

Yep, it was a fluke. Tried again today at work and upon first firing up my laptop I couldn't get a 3G signal. Cycled the data card and ATT comm. Manager and I barely caught a 3G signal…barely! Tried 2 bandwidth meters the first came up with an error, the second reported a whopping 71.10kbps.
Tried my ATT smart phone, same thing says 3G until you make a phone call then it drops to EDGE.
So stick with em’ if your willing to put up with spotty 3G coverage.

maybe they are in the process of activating some new 3G towers in the area? You know, they can't just put them up and just turn them on. There're tests that need to be performed and stuff. It sounds to me like they're trying to cover a 3G hole in your area. But wait! from what I hear from you it can also be that they're playing games with all the people in the area... Actually, just forget all I said before. That's what it is... they're turning 3G on and off just to piss you off. 🤣

If you need help on picking out a phone, I can help you. Just tell me all you are looking for in a phone, and I can point you to the right one.
