It's not so much a problem having to carry two devices around, because verizon's device is pretty small, it's more so the fee that goes along with it.
That and I don't think you can just cancel the iPhone data plan either. Isn't it required for all iPhones bought with a two year agreement?

Interesting work-around but I don't see this as a real solution. Now you're carting around two devices.
It's definitely not the ultimate solution, but some people would be willing to do it despite the slight set back of carrying around another device. The Mifi is slim and light weight so I don't think it would be that much of an inconvenience.
The other con is the cost. Verizon wants 60 a month for 5 GB. The CNET guy said you can cancel your iPhone data plan to save money, but I don't think you can do that. I think you are required to have the iPhone data plan, regardless.
If the iPhone is *that* big of a pain in the neck, better taking the ETF and moving along with another phone on Verizon.
I never realized Verizon's data plan was $60 a month. That represents a bit of a problem should a compelling phone ever appear on Verizon's network. I'm not enthralled with AT&T, but that makes it a lot less sour.

No, that's just with the Mifi pricing. Verizon's actual phone data plans are 30/month like AT&T.
The Mifi data only plans are 40/mo. for 250 MB or 60/mo. for 5 GB.
