Migrating From Suncom To Cingular

Here in NC we weren't allowed to keep ATTWS assets and customers. In response we traded Suncom the ATTWS assets for it's assets, customers, spectrum, etc. in VA. This allows Cingular access to ALL top 100 markets in the US.
As far as I know there will be no special concessions for Suncom Customers who are migrating to Cingular...they will be treated exactly as if they were ATTWS cust's migrating. That means no credit check, no deposit, no ETF. That also means that you'll recieve new customer pricing on whatever phone you get thru your migration. You're not gonna get a v551 for free, for example.
13 phones would be half the lineup, that's too much to offer for free...it would open up some of the higher e...

When I heard that SunCom(SC) and Cingular(CW) would merge, I went to the local Cingular store about 4 weeks ago to inquire about their service as I wanted a Family Plan with four phones.
SunCom did not have service in the No. Va area where one of us lives, and Cingular does so since our original two phones worked just fine for me at zip 22508 and my daughter at 22980, the Cingular rep said I could obtain their service right away as both were now the same company. I was led to believe that this would give me a BIG ALLOVER reception area including the whole family since I knew the SC service worked for two of us.
I purchased three Motorola v551s and one ...

The way it works is the swap happens in may,2005.Cingular would have your account switched into the cingular billing system, same as the forer attws accounts are being switched into suncoms billing system, if you jump ship prior to the company's switching, then yes you are hit with fees. It's like if a ATT customer switched in say aug,2005 to cingular, till the company's switch happens they are still seperate, and the att customers got hit with the ETF as well.
We do provide service
by the zip 22980, it has it based out of the baltimore/washington DC market.
Unfortuntately the ETF's won't g...

TWO people at the local Cingular Store told me the ETF for SunCom would be waived or I never would have switched at this time. I asked all the right questions, but obviously I was not told the truth. This is outright fraud - do I have any recourse? If this is how Cingular gets customers, I really feel cheated.
As far as I am concerned, they can pay the SunCom ETFs if they are going to outright lie to potential customers.

I was under the impression that SunCom's market is a divested market. The FCC mandated that part of ATTWS spectrum and certain markets had to be sold due to monoploy issues. If you are in a divested market, than when you switch to Cingular, you are still considered an old fashioned port and not a migration.

Cingular
They are only roaming partners like we are with T-Mobile just Suncom and AT&T had a non compete clause for market 35 so AT&T never put anything around here were as cingular did so no Suncom is still its own company just roams with us. Suncom is owned by Triton.
but what will says makes sense I think
