How the hell...

How the hell can someone not know their own damn cellphone number? I get a real kick out of it when someone comes into my store and asks me to look up their account. I ask them for their cell phone number and they draw a complete blank.

I work indirect, and most times we just have a customer come into the store to ask a simple question (like when their contract expires). Hardly worth the hassle of calling up CS.

I love the responses the customers give when I ask them

"well I dont know it because I never call it"

🤣

Another thing, i also like how customers seem to think they know more about the implications of the merger than those of us who work for the company do. sorry guys and gals, its just been a stressful day for me. I promise not to bitch this much in the future!

no some phones have the # programed in a special area under phone book but that is about it and it can be reprogrammed by accident

doesnt work on all phones. but the point of everything is that if you own a cell phone, you should at least know your number for when you need help

Yeah of course, I was just suggesting an option for next time. A learning point to give to the customer so they can take this wonderful knowledge and pass it on to the next generation so we can avoid the blank stare issue.

I always want to say something snotty like "Guess nobody else calls you, either, since you can't give someone your own digits, loser!" but I refrain... Guess that would be one of those comments you make on your last day... 😳

it's like going into the Social Security office and saying you need a new card, and they ask for you number and you stare at them.

I can actually relate to those customers. For the life of me I can not remember my cell phone #.

But I hardly use my phone. Not to mention "I don't call myself" 🙂

But at least I know how to find my own # with my phone before I talk to a rep about my service.
