New iPhone data plan?

I have heard a small rumbling about ATT forcing iphone users to switch to their new data plan that they are going to launch. Is there any truth to this and if so what are the differences? I know that it is big enough that they will waive the ETF if you call and demand it waived to cancel your service. But that will be after it launches.

No rumblings here. It could be a hard cap plan though.. Most countries already have one for the Iphone. But who knows. Most carriers are very careful about changing plans that allow customers to get out of their contract early.

What new data plan?

Materially adverse changes means that if it's an increase of one penny, you're out free of an ETF while under contract.

unless they waive the increase if you call in and complain.

If it is a flat rate increase and they offer to cover the difference, you can't get out ETF free. The only thing that could get out out is an increase to Per Use, or a % change or something that they cannot predict how much it will cost you over your term.

I really doubt they will make a change to a data plan that would allow customers out of their contracts. They would lost a TON of money if iphone users could get out of their contract. I don't see it happening under any circumstances. I also don't see much of a change that could take place.

The only new Iphone data plan there is, is only for people who put a prepaid sim in their 3G Iphone and did not activate account properly thru Itunes, they are required to either switch to a pick your plan account with automatic monthly payments with a $30 data plan if eligible or change to a consumer account.
