What is the current sim I should have. I have two cards that are in iPhones that say 4022 and one that says 4024 in a sony. Do I need to update those iPhone's or am I good to go. I am having issues.

no you are fine. as long as they are 64k. All orange gsm sim cards start 8901. As long as those are your first digits, you'll be fine

8901 is the first four digits of all of Cingular/AT&T SIM cards and does not necessarily mean it is up to date. The second string of 4 seems to reflect the time the sim was made. A second string of 4104 definitely means your SIM is a UICC-SIM (3G) and certainly 64K. It could still be up to date with a second string of 4103 but there's a chance it's an old one.

Best bet: If it says 3G on it, you're fine.

He's referring to the digits on the reverse side of the SIM itself, not in the serial number.

My newest SIMs are 4024, but that doesn't say much. I have an old 32k that is a 4020.

No, that wasn't what he was talking about. Look at the post again.

I was responding to what khrispii said, not the original poster, which is why I responded to khrispii's post and not iPhone3gs'.
