Need a new phone.
I have had a Samsung X497 for the past 2+ years and before that it was my mother in laws. Well my contract is finally (thank goodness) coming up and I need a new phone. I need something basically free with a contract and something that is at least a messaging phone. I have been struggling with my text messages for a long time now.

Samsung magnet is a good low cost, messaging oriented phone. They are 19.99 after rebate here. Shop around you can probably find one free somewhere.

Just drove from Tucson to Billings MT with a friend who has ATT iphone. He was really getting pissed when he had no service but I did with Verizon.

Like I've said here a bunch of times, Verizon has a top notch network. And you pay for it, both in costs and in using phones that are, quite frankly, ****ty.

I have both AT&T and Verizon. My kids remain on Verizon because there is no coverage in their schools/colleges from AT&T. Like useless. My wife and I are on AT&T because we became tired and frustrated of Verizon's crap-tastic phones and went with iPhones.
We work in 3G land, so coverage with AT&T is pretty good. Building penetration is just a bit less than Verizon, but those are the breaks.

I have a 65" plazma TV with a rooftop antenna, I only get 3 channels but I am going to keep my antenna service because I really like my TV that is not living up to it's potential.
Just wait until some other carrier like Verizon gets the iphone and you will see how loyal ATT customers are when faced with the choice of having their Iphone on a service that actually works.

I have an ipod touch and love it. So I think the Iphone has real potential.......... on someone else's network, of course.
So, when Verizon offers the iphone I will get one. But until then I think I will stick with a "lesser" smart phone on a superior network, thank you.

We are on a family plan. Four phones share minutes. My montly bill for my phone number is likd $20 because I have addidtional line bill 9.99 and Text messaging plan another 9.99. If Verizon has any $20 plans with text messaging and not a big deposit (have bad credit). then maybe I'll switch. Until then I will not drive from Tuson to MT.

I would reccomend the LG Neon. It is now free after mail in rebate. Good reception, feature packed, and I have almost a non-exitent return rate.
