Amazon Wireless question
I just thought of this, I bought a Blackberry Bold w/service for $100 off www.Amazonwireless.com. And in the fine print somewhere I read I need to have service for 181 consecutive days for the discounted phone. But I’ve got a few ATT phones one of which I was going to use instead of the BB Bold.
So I’m assuming I just need to have service with ATT for the 181 days for the discount, it doesn’t matter what phone I use…?
I mean it’s not like ATT reports back to Amazon and says “Yep he’s kept his service but not with the phone he bought from you guys.â€Â
I just don’t want to get nicked for using my own equipment and if it matters it’s a smartphone as well, so the plan will be the same....

You should be fine. Sometimes if you switch your plan around though they can ding you a fee. It should say in the fineprint.

Amazon's got some damn fine deals!!! A lot of phones on Amazon a whole lot cheaper than ATT sells them for.

Keep your 30.00 blackberry plan on and you wont have any problems... if you remove it..more than likely they will charge your credit card for full price of the handset. And yes, AT&T does report back on any feature changes etc. 😁

The reason that you have to keep your service on for 181 days is that ATT pays their agents for the equipment sold 6 months from the date of purchase. If you put your SIM in another phone, that is fine. Just do not disconnect the service before the 181 days are up or Amazon can charge you for the equipment. Just keep the service going and you will be fine.

Like ccareatatt said, they're just looking for the Blackberry data plan to be on there. Don't touch it, and no worries.

Yes Amazonwireless has some good prices, but if you’re porting a number you might want to think twice before purchasing a phone/service through them.
It seems they have taking (in my experience) a process that has never taken more than a couple hours (porting) and dragged it out to a couple days!
Not good. I can’t remember purchasing a phone from ANYWHERE that it took that long.
Now I don’t know if this experience is unique to me or if others have experienced this with Amazonwireless. But if the money savings is worth the wait they have had great customer support. Although if you don’t want to wait for your port to go through…skip the middle man.
