Question for Legacy Orange Reps
I am a new orange/former blue rep. The whole advancement thing within Cingular is a bit unclear to me. What are the advancement opportunities like within a call center enviorment? Are there pay raises involved? Or does moving to new positions like tier 2 constitute a lateral move without a pay raise? We have been kept in the dark about a lot of this. any reps out there willing to give any help with this matter?

most moves from what i have expected are latteral moves unless into management or management type move, but not floor manager if you know what i mean.
another move is in the same position but as floor support/manager releif. then there is a 10% increase in pay while you do that work.
most promotions come with a standard 10% raise, i am unaware of anyone who has gotten better but im sure that exception exists.

so, if I understand you correctly, if I went from care to tier 2 tech support, it is just a change in job title and not pay grade?

from what i have heard.... just more work... unless there is a different pay scale.. but we have a sister call center in the same state one is customer care one it straight up tier 2 and there is no difference.

Nothing like the concept of more work, same pay and limited advancement. OH well, at least they kept us open.

i have received all of my paychecks on time too. dont get me started about a previous "dream job" i had.
the benefits are nice. i get to pay only 20 per paycheck for a family of 5 with vision dental and health, granted i dont get paid much to start with but hey. it helps.
