Network not Available

I just ported my Verizon number over to Cingular with a v551 Motorola.

Love the phone, hate the customer care!

Every time I go to the web it tells me "Network not Available." My wife walked out of the store with me and was able to use the browser (she got a different phone).

Customer care has told me:

1) Too much congestion (um, my wife got on fine)
2) Not enough bars (nope, got 5)
3) I need to wait until it fully ports.

It's been 48 hrs! And again, my wife got on instantly with her ported number

Help?!

Are you receiving calls to your new phone? Either way, the GPRS should be fully functional. Have them check your browser settings.

Well it depends on how quickly VZW wants to take to port your number, carriers have up to 30 days to do it, most will take 24-48 hours.

Congestion does happen, its (signal) is sent out hte same way as calls do, through the tower, through the switch, to the closet tower with less congestion then to your phone, your wife's may have come in quicker if she is on say a less congested former att tower. Also with all due respect to you, the motorola phones, are really crap phones, they had a lazy memory, so if you lose signal, you must restart your phone to find signal, bet your wife either got a lg or nokia, those are wicked fast.

Everyone so far has been correct. You might want to try to call CS. My quess is your settings or your Media net package is not on the account(if you asked for one) or the pay per use feature(which comes with the plan) did not auto attach. If you are still ahving problems take it into the store you purchased it from. Your salesman would love to help.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

if someone is afraid of of bluetooth (believe me, there are customers who are worried about other people "hacking" their bluetooth), dislike moto, and want a camera phone with just the right ammount of features (ie infrared), then LG sounds like a pretty good option...
