Telcel (Mexico) blocking Cingular

BajaTony

I use the Cingular NorthAmerican plan which gives me free roaming and long distance in Canada, US and in Mexico on the Telcel GSM network. I am presently on vacation in Baja California (San Felipe) and Telcel is blocking all calls back to the USA. I can receive calls but cannot reply. I can dial local Mexcio numbers but what I really need is the connectivity back to San Diego.
Obviously I can't call Cingular to find out what is going on and Telcel is "unhelpful". Can anyone with contacts back in the US find out what has happened? Is Cingular not paying its bills? Does anyone have an email address for Cingular?
Thanks for any help.

just dial 1-866-cingular from your phone. chances are 611 won't work because of telcel, but if you try the 1866 number, it should connect you to a cingular CS rep

Yes. I have used this phone and this service with no problems at all for the past 6 months - international roaming, international calling, free roaming and free calling in Mexico. It works! --- until this week.
The problem here is that I cannot even call customer service (Cingular in US or Telcel in Mexico) - they are both blocked, even though I can make local calls and can receive international calls.

So the problem is how do I contact someone to activate (or reactivate) my privieges?
