We are downgrading from a Blackberry to another phone. We are keeping the line, which to my understanding is what the contract is for ( the service for the line not the phone). When we do this we should be able to take off our data plan with no promblem, right?

You are correct. If you put an active sim card back in the blackberry though the system will automatically add the $30 data plan.

Great! Our BB is broken, so not going to be using it anytime soon.

Just be sure to stop by a store or call Customer Care and give them the IMEI of your phone. Since the IMEI in the system will not match with the Blackberry service, the rep can then take off the $30 data package. If you still want internet on your other phone it will be only $10 per mo. if you have unlimited texting, $15 if not.
