New Phones...
I was looking at another website getting the specs for the Moto V1150 and it said it was UMTS/GSM 900/1800/1900. Now I do understand Cingular has the 850 band and this phone doesn't, BUT, since it has UMTS will it run off of Cingular's UMTS network when it is in place? If any phone is UMTS, and unlocked, will it work on the upcoming UMTS network here? Thanks.
P.S. If it is as good in reality as is on paper, that will be quite a phone.

Actually, Cingular is chosing not to deploy UMTS in the rest of the markets. They are going directly to HSDPA (High Speed Data Packet Access) which is about 5 times faster than UMTS. You will be able to download a 5mb file in less than 15 seconds. Cingular is the first carrier in the world to utilize this system. While other carriers (Verizon, T-mobile) are still recouping from spending Millions on their 3G systems, Cingular will only have to put up a minimal amount of money since it will be more of a system upgrade, rather than a complete overhaul. HOORAY FOR CINGULAR!!! 😁

Just thought I throw in UMTS markets are still in single digits...and look forward to UMTS in your area in the next ten years or so...that is roughly estimated however...donot purchase UMTS in hopes of having this service avail. within next year in your area unless your dealer verifies this with you and make sure he shows you your calling area as well as explains what happens in handoff to gsm areas (i.e.frozen screen,drop calls)
