Ugh! More dropped Calls!

Ok, does Cingular power down some towers at night or something? Maybe because I mostly use my phone at night, but this is getting rediculious! I had 4 dropped calls tonight, all in a row. After 13 minutes, silence, then call ended. Is there anything I can do? I have a Motorola V400. I have changed my network settings to 850/1900 and do the powerdown and all that stuff. I think I have about 4 months left of warranty on the phone, and then another 16 months left under contract. I'd hate to change providers, since Cingular has some really good service peeps (except the last girl I called, sounded like she didn't want to be there, but, you get them every now and then). Does anyone have any remedies for me?

There is an issue with the motorola flip phones that they drop calls. Your best bet is to take advantage of warranty exchange at 1800-801-1101. Some people ahve no toruble with the motorola flip phones I always have to exchange them at least once.

I tried calling that in the past and got disconnected from them. I'll try again, maybe they were having a bad day. Thanks.

power cycle your phone (turn off, turn on) at least once every two-three days, 8 times out of 10 that will help with the dropped calls on Motorolas, its a software glitch in the v400's and v551's, if you don't power cycle every couple of days you'll experience dropped calls, static, etc.

I have been doing that, just because I thought it's something that should be done. Not helping. The girl on the phone at Cingular said I need to do it 2-3 times a day though. They've also told me to "shock" the phone, taking the battery out while the phone is still on. The last girl I talked to said she had never heard of such a thing and wouldn't think it would be beneficial.

I would get the phone swapped... Call XBM 8008011101... If you already tried the settings and that did not help

Alright, called the #, waited for 20 min. and they're sending a phone out to me. If this one gives me the same problems, but after 3 more months (when warranty is up), I'll have to pay the $50 deductable on my insurance. That stinks. I also have to pay to email all the pics on my phone to my computer.

Ahh, it's ok. So far, customer service has been pretty good, aside from one girl. Also, the guy I had tonight had one of those oh well, who cares attitude. I called to see what options I had for transferring my pics from my phone to my computer. I was sort of hoping he'd give me credit for a month of pic sending (he said it was $4.99/month for 50 messages), but he didn't even show any emotion. The only reason I even thought of it was because, from what I've read online on reviews and stuff, the V400 has a problem with dropped calls. In my opinion, Cingular should've either tested it to ensure against this, or at least be somewhat accomidating to its customers. Now, I'm going to have to buy one of those link up cables. I kind of wanted...

$4.99/ month actually as a promotion will give you unlimited pictures each month from now until 12/31/2005. The V400 on the original series had some issues that were unknown until they were in "real world conditions". Anyway, good luck with the new one... 😁 And it is not a problem, I mostly get in trouble at my new store for caring too much but thats just me 😁
