Nokia N-gage question

CelluNerd

Mar 28, 2005, 10:39 AM
Will a 1 gigabyte memory card work in an n-gage? specs on phonescoop say it will support up to 256mb. But other places say different.

I would call NOkia... that's your best bet... 1(88😎665-4228.. They can give you a straight answer.

I would check the n-gage forum. i bet someone has brought that up before in there. 1 gig works with 6620 nokia and they are kinda similar so it might work.

With the original N-Gage, I remember it taking a 256mb card and no larger.

They say this about my 6230 as well and I have a 512MB in it and it works just fine.

No... Nokia said that they 6230 would hold up to a gig... The highest meg card that nokia sells is 128 though, so in retrospect, I would go to your closest store and ask them if you can try your 1 gig card in an N-Gage, O. 🙂

That's funny that they tell you 1gig. Cause My owners manual for my 6230 says 256mb and my quick reference guide says 128mb (that could be opposite) so I called Nokia and they told me 128mb for my 6230.....

I wish these manufacturers could get their stories straight. I had the same problem with LG for my VZW phone. 😈

I was told one gig by my nokia rep who is a close friend of mine that I have been doing business with for seven years. So she is kinda skewed and doesn't necessarily tell me what Nokia wants me to hear, she tell me what I want to know. And she has never steered me wrong. 😉

I guess they only tell you up to 128 because tahts the highest they sell and if you want higher, then you're forced to buy a brand other than nokia. eh?

Could be, but I was fine using a one gig on my 6230, so I would just try it.

That may be a $150 mistake depending on who you're buying the card from.

No he has one already.... what I am saying is trying that in a phone at a store and see if it works... if not no harm done because he already has the card. 😉
