Upgrade question?
I have a 2 line family plan with ATT. Hubby is eligible to upgrade this Jan. which he plans on doing. I'm able to upgrade in April. But I would like to wait for my line until the end of the 24 months so I can do a 1 year term. Is this possible?
I know when he upgrades early he will be renewing for 2 more years, which he is fine with. But I'm pretty much a cell phone junkie and have a hard time waiting for a new phone every 2 years. ๐
Any help would be great. TIA.

yes. i believe that if you do only one year commitment, the phone is not discounted as much. if i am incorrect, others will chime in soon. ๐

i don't believe AT&T offers a one year contract anymore. All the pricing listed is 2 yr, no commitment, and exception pricing.

Unfortunately one year upgrades no longer exist no matter how or when you do it. Waiting until your contract is out will only prolong your new phone. If your MRC is over $100 you can upgrade every 12 months anyway, throw some features on there and enjoy early upgrades, especially if your using those features.

They don't do one year upgrades...however-
You don't have to wait til your 2 year contract is up. You can do an exception upgrade right now which extends your contract two years and gives you one year pricing($75 more than 2 year pricing)

Well I called my local store (2 actually) and one told me no, they no longer do 1 year contracts.
The other store I called said yes they do, you just pay more for the phone ($75 more). And he also said that a family plan can have one line, the primary in this case, at a 2 year contract and the second line at a 1 year.
So at this point I'm confused but hopeful. ๐คจ

100% sure absolutely positive one year upgrades do not exist. New activations yes. Upgrades no. They are under-informed.

They can do one year contracts on new activations not upgrades.
You can get one year pricing if you do a two year contract before your eligible for an upgrade(exception upgrade)
Each phone number has its own contract. It doesn't matter if they are different.
