Insurance on non-stock phone

Will insurance cover the phone (Moto A780) that is not stocked by Cingular and I buy it from the Internet?

I believe that you can only look forward to the one year warranty provided by Motorola. Lockline (insurance provider for Cingular) will not insure a device that Cingular does not offer (last time I checked).
