Is this good news for At&t

Verizon is requiring that all phones have some sort of data plan. what do you think?

Beginning in November on ATT, you had to take out a $20 or higher messaging or data plan in order to get the rebate on any of the messaging phones with a full QWERTY keyboard. So Verizon basically is doing the same thing.

That policy is rarely enforced and at&t still doesn't require data on those phones. I see little correlation between your comparison.

it all depends on what else they announce if they make the change.

Remember:

Per usage txt hike/cheaper unlimited option

higher early terms/cheaper phone prices

Required data on Rogue/Touch/almost $100 price drop on contract

Verizon is a big company, and they won't do something this massive without trying to balance it out with a bit better PR-worthy announcements
