truth about cingular
I work for cingular in customer care. I have read a lot of posts about FCC and complaints and consumer reports. I have read employees of other carriers come in the cingular forum and post as much negativity about cingular as they can find in print. I am not saying cingular is perfect but I have had almost every wireless carrier and all have major flaws. Cingular's problems in billing come from the fact we offer rollover mintues and that took a while to get off the ground. Cingualr is the only carrier that u can put your cell phone bill on the same bill as your home phone bill. Having SBC and Bellsouth selling cingular is great it cost cingular very little money to sign up those customers. One big problem is their are a lot of laws againist t...

Vzw's evdo is a new technology that new things are being tested on and just because a technology is capable of doing something doesnt mean its easy to get it to do it.
Look at the internet.. I am sure people knew it would become like it is today but remember how it started out?

I think that because of things like Fast Forward asnd rollover mintues and combined billing mistakes can happen. It gives cingular a lot more chances to screw up than Verizon. I was just saying that Verizon has VCAST and it has been a big hit but Cingular has MOBITV and so does sprint. Sprint was the first national wireless company to have anything like that on the cell phone. Cingular launched MOBITV before VCAST was out. i said it was the only national carrier not the only carrier DAM stop paraphrasing not back peddling. I did not say sprints TV service was good I just said they were the first. Every wireless carrier offers a service which they deliver with a degree of skill. They all have different ways of doing the same thing and that is what separates them.
I happen to prefer Verizon but that does not make you wrong. It is a preference.
Now having said that, I do believe that Cingular has some work to do in the arena of customer care. I am sure that they will iron out the problems. When you took on ATTWS you took on arguably the worst carrier at customer care. When Cingular bought ATTWS they bought all of the problems as well as the licenses. We will see what happens this year. If the complaints reduce then we can say it is pos...

Jackie, don't forget that Vcast is only one or two minute episodes while our mobile tv is live streaming television. I got to watch all the Pope stuff via CNN on my phone today. Verizon customers couldn't.

Where I live, we have Qwest & Verizon for home service. Used to have MCI also. When MCI offered home service & wireless service, they would combine the bills. Now we are left with Qwest & Verizon. Both companies offer combined billing. They even offer a discount for combining the billing. Both even take it one step further.... You can buy your Internet service through them as well & they will put it on the same bill too! đ đ

Please research what you are saying before you post. Most of the major wireless carriers that also offer lan line service offer combined billing. Cingular is NOT the only company that has 2 major telecommunications corporations backing them, VZW has this too (Verizon, Corp. and Vodafone).
Rollover minutes ARE great. And I do agree with the fact that it could potentially cause billing issues.
And EVDO is phenomenal, while I agree there could me much more content.
In closing, I am a Cingular and VZW customer and I honestly feel that Cingular is a much better wireless carrier. But that is my OPINION!!! However, I support that opinion with factual data to back it up. Your post is completely unresearched and has no substance becau...

Other carriers have looked into rollover minutes but when field tested decided they were too hard on the billing system. Kind of like no carrier runs prepaid through their billing system. If Cingular can make them work reliably 100% of the time then good for them.
I also believe we should give the buyout dust some chance to settle before we make any real judgments.
