That article states that 1st quarter should be around 1.2 million (NOT 3 MILLION) and that the full year's forecast for net adds will be 3.8 million.

LOL thats funny... i was thinking the same thing. I doubt its even that high, probably high 900k's to very low millions.

i think you read it wrong.
"The research firm lowered the estimated churn rate on Cingular to 2.3% from 2.6%, and raised the net addition estimate to 1.2 million from 900,000."
that is for q1 2005.
"Merrill also raised the 2005 net addition estimate for Cingular to 3.8 million from 3.0 million"
THATS FOR FULL YEAR 2005!!! NOT PER QUARTER!!!
