So over the last couple of weeks, I have been bombarded with emails wanting to know how I migrated for free. This is my story:

I called in because my bill was not right. They were charging me for text messages individually, even though I called to add a TEXT package previously. I also asked about prices on phones for upgrading. The rep told me some prices & they were really good.

I told him to proceed with a migration & he told me that I would have to pay full price for the phone. I questioned WHY, especially when he just told me that those phones were really cheap. The rep then started to CUSS ME OUT....

He told me that the company did not need crappy customers like me. He called me a ***. Cussed at me even more. The he threw dow...

I do too. Sometimes I get this feeling that when people pn here are posting horrible notions, they take it to work with them. It wouldnt suprise me if they were one of the Phonescoop Terrors, like Debit....

I know that he would have said that my complaint was unjustified & that I had to take the abuse, since I am locked into a contract.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? How about reps(cor, telesales etc.) Have you witnessed it firsthand?

I think that it was because he gave me wrong prices & then he told me FULL PRICE. When I asked him why he was telling me different prices than 5 minutes previously... He SCREAMED "How dare you question me! I can give any prices I want" blah blah blah. It was all downhill from there.
😕

Yikes. Sounds like a bad apple. I've never been treated rudely by ANY rep from any carrier. Sorry for the caps last post...I don't know what happened.

I would consider situations this extreme an isolated incident. It happens unfortunately, but not on a regular basis.

And when it does happen, I am guessing that the customer previals to some extent?

Yes, it's not a tolerated event at cingular and the few times the customer will recieve the world from us... Mainly, if something good happens a customer tells one person... if something like this happens... The customer tells the world wide web.

Thats kinda what I figured. I had to go through this with sprint too. I think the was Sprint handled it AFTER the complaint was pretty crappy too. I cancelled my Sprint & went to ATTWS.

Believe it or not, when I switch to ATTWS, I went with GoPhone because I was afraid of being burned....

GoPhone was VERY ideal. After about 9 months, then I switched to a post-paid plan.

something else that i have noticed in my call center only (it is the only one i know) management seems to applaud mediocrity.

I have worked my way up from regular rep to specialized team to trainer, all way going good then all of a sudden i wasnt needed anymore and back down the ladder i went.

I havent taken it out on the customer yet and wont because i beleive in the idea that if you dont like your job, then leave.

But it doesnt mean that i am a happy camper, quite the contrary. but my issue isnt the customers issue at all.

I left early the other day because i was so very upset i thought i would curse someone out. instead of doing so i just left. but i can guarantee that the person who had told you off is no longer with the c...

And let me guess.... Security kinda parades you around the call centre as a "walk of death" type of thing...
I used to work for T-Mobile a few years back & that is what they did there....

yeah, you get your box, pack it up and leave with security.

At T-Mobile, the supervisor packs your box for you. Then the Call center manager inspects it to make sure you dont take "vital company resources" i.e. pens, brocures, disks. THEN they bring the box to you. They dont let you back into the call center without security. They walk you all the way to the car & follow you to the main road in a security vehicle. Now THAT is harsh.

Around here they just wait until the employee being fired goes out for a cigarette, then they shoot him where he stands and kick him into a dumpster. Cuts down on unemployment claims, don'cha know... 😉

It is not a common occurrence at all. But it happens I think some Representatives just snap due to poor treatment from customers and the company that they work for not providing good stress relief options. Companies can avoid poor customer treatment by treating their reps better that transfers over to how they treat the customers.

That is really horrible. I mean, you can hate your job, but you shouldn't take it out on some unsuspecting customer!! I'll bet he did get fired.

I donno, some people just snap after too long in this place. 😈
