On your Cingular handset, do you like prefer:

Monophonic Ringtones
Polyphonic Ringtones
Superphonic Ringtones aka Realtones/HiFi ringers

I prefer Superphonic. I make all of mine with MP3's. I edit the using WavePad.

i find that a lot of times super tones aren't loud enough for my liking...however, i do like them...its a tossup between poly and super...

besides, poly is cheaper ;)

I'm partial to polyphonic, just because the hi-fi ringers are such short clips it sounds a bit funny, and because it's tough sometimes to distinguish the phone from ambient music noise. A poly ringer sounds like a ringer, not a radio...

If possible, you can use Wavepad to make your own. I usually save them as an MP3 file with a 64bit rate. This will make the clips a higher quality. My clips are also usually the chorus, which is about 20 seconds or so.

I use wavepad, which is an MP3 editor. Then use Mobile Phone Tools or find a website that can host your files via wap.

Or if your phone supports BT OBEX, you can send them to your phone, given that you have a BR adapter as well.

Personally, I find polyphonic just find for my tastes. Nothing against mono, to alert me of an incoming call, it works just as well.

I might have more of an opinion of Supertones/MP3 ringers if I had a capable phone (my Nokia 3120 only has poly). MP3 ringers are certainly an entertaining idea, i may play around with them when I get a compatible phone.

One of my handsets plays "Scotty Doesn't Know" as my ringer. I love Eurotrip.

P.S. That same phone also rings with "Mail Mothafucka!" when I get a text. Whee!

Scotty doesn't know, Don't tell Scotty, Scotty doesn't know...
