JUST AN OBSERVATION
Now, do not get me wrong. I love Cingular. I am a faithful customer & transitioned from ATTWS to Cingular.
I just cant help to notice that the family plan prices increased a while back. T-Mobile has 1000 mins w/ 2 lines for $69.99. This is the cost of a single line through Cingular.
Cingular.com has only 1 free phone (Samsung x427) TMobile.com has 8.
Cingular charges $9.99 for 3MB of data usage. Sprint offers a better value: unlimited data for $15.
Is this evidence of a new trend or is Cingular making it harder for themselves to gain customers?
Please do not kill me.... I was ...

That cannot compare to other offerings, even by Sprint, as you said, and much smaller carriers like US Cellular and Alltel. True the mobile web uses your minutes but at least it's $6.00 a month.
Anything under $20.00 would be a deal.

T-Mobile may not have as large of network or as many customers, but with roaming agreements & such, they seem to be a better deal for now. I think that with the "Corporate Buyers Remorse" you mentioned... Other companies stand to profit from this. Especially when their logo clearly states "Get More".
I always look to get more for my dollar.

Like i said, I am happy with that i have gotten from Cingular (even though it was cheaper from ATTWS), but your right Aleq. It will come to bite them in the ass one of these days.

Also, TMo does have one advantage that it has had for a looooooong time... 1 year contracts. They do not offer anything with a 2-year agreement. This is rare.

Yeah, it's during these unsettled times that TMo's "wait and see" policy really works out for us. We picked up a TON of customers during the first month of WLNP (quite a few from ATT) and we'll be here waiting for the disgruntled to come calling. We may not be the biggest or the most technologically advanced, but we're an extremely good value for the money on all fronts, our customer service kicks butt and our coverage is lovely unless you happen to live in BFE Cow Country... 🤣

in comparison, in the last year, Cingular's "spiderweb" GSM map now looks similar to Verizon's covergae map (except for the deserts and forests out west).
If you build it, they will come 😉

Everyone knows that many things vary when it comes to coverage. Things such as atmospheric interference, geographical interference, lead paint etc. BTW... MuchDrama, Are you British? (this is not a joke)

Actually, muchdrama, YOU are the one who doinked up the quote, NOT me... 😛 And no, I'm not British, just an Anglophone/phile. Plus, "wanker" is just an inherently amusing word... 🤣
unlimited sidekick data which gets you unlimited texts, email and internet usage - 20.00

Merger = too many employees
make working conditions harder = people start to quit
people quit = no scuffles with unions + company looks better for not laying off people
workforce gets reasonable = working conditions improve and prices come down again to achieve this
...again, this is only a thought of one person, not fact nor even a rumor.
In this regard, I'll have to give the Cingular big boys props, because they have nothing to worry about.
On the flip side, with all the changes...

In reality, Cingular just acquired 26 million customers and still signing up at least 1 million more a year.
More like 1 million per quarter.
you are ignorant
the tmobile coverage could be extremely strong in his area...
