Hello.

Question: When should one expect to receive a refund when returning equipment and canceling a contract during the first 30 days?

I purchased a Treo 650 on cingular and they were able charge my credit card in minutes. Now that I closed the account, paid my bill in full, and returned the equipment I still have not been told when I can expect to see my $449.

I think 40 days is enough for any business to issue a refund. Please keep this in mind when considering using a trial period. It appears easy and harmless. But it has taken a fair amount of time on the phone to actually get them to remove the early termination fee, close the account, figure out where to ship the equipment, etc. This process does not have all the ki...

😳 If I were you, I would contact the corporate office. If they turn you away, keep calling. I had to do this with Sprint.

You can find this info on the Better Business Bureau website: www.bbb.org Hope you get your refund soon

I work for cignular this sounds like an cingular.com order and it takes them about 6-8 weeks to refund the customer after receipt of the equipment. If this is an estore order I would email the online store from the website. Or I would contact them at (866) 391-0749 at say issue with my web order into the speech response system. Ia m pretty sure this is an estore issue I have spoken with them several times about this problem.

This, unfortunately, is one of the drawbacks of purchasing online. Cingular is not alone on online refunds taking a good deal of time. There is additional processing of your purchase and it can sometimes take as long as 60 days to receive a refund (that is based on how long I have heard from customers, so it may not be based on fact).

I would recommend you protest the charges on your credit card. Most banks allow you to protest charges within 90 of your purchase, or within 90 days of the date it showed up on your statement. Either way, you are getting close so I would do it right away.

While I do not believe you WON'T get your refund, this may help expedite the process, especially since your bank will usually credit your card durin...

This is actually the first recommendation I make to cust's in such situations... It is far quicker to dispute through your financial institute than to call in for 3 hours and escalate. You'll have your money, we'll get notice of it and we all mov eon.

I agree, when I swipe a credit card for a refund it's done on this side of things. I know the original issue was likely not done in store, but it's still usually better to deal with the credit card company or bank after that point.
