hey ive got a military customer being deployed to iraq at the end of the month does anyone know if getting his phone unlocked will allow him to get a prepaid sim card to use over there?

But you need to make sure he has the 900mhz frequency that is the only one in Iraq they dont use 1800 there the V180,V551,Razor will work there

make sure his phone supports 900 mhz too. Asia Cell and Orascom are the two main carriers over there and they're both 900 mhz carriers. I'm unaware of an 1800 mhz network there 🙂

Yes,

Unlocked the phone will provide such purpose, however make sure he has a quad band phone, more specifically the 900mhz band. Coverage is really spotty and a full map of coverage in Iraq can be viewed at gsmworld.com

Iraq is tough they are CDMA GSM hardly works in Iraq.
