Can I pay the ETF and go month to month?
I think people are better off buying their phones retail and going month to month for awhile before signing a contract.....This way they can transfer to another service and use the same phone if they become unhappy with the other Carrier. The beauty of GSM.

I agree with that, but if they're already under contract why pay the ETF just to go month to month with the same service provider? They may never leave and never need to pay the ETF, but if they decide to leave then they just pay the ETF and be done with it.
