I currently work for cingular but since GSM isn't available in my area, I have to be a Verizon customer. (What an oxymoron right?) Well, this isn't the usual bashing post of either company. I think both have advantages and disadvantages. I am just sick of this who is better chat. There is no right answer!!! Everyone has different experiences with different reps and stores that shapes their cell experience. But anyways, my point is, I've posted a question about phones (I'm getting ready to renew) in the Verizon forum, and reps will answer a question about what cell company is better first rather than a question from a customer. Isn't that what these forums for?

in truth yes... that is what they are for. but drano is SUPPOSED to be used for cleaning drains not making bombs, but there are people who can find a way to mis-use anything 😕

I agree with you 100%.

Rich put these forums here for people to get answers to ?s they have about cell phones. Many of us here enjoy assisting people on here, and yes some get carried away but only because often its not just comments about the carriers but the employess that are made.

Many times people have said that CSRs are all horrible, and yes I do take offense to that, especially when a customer on here will post that not all of us are and give examples of ones that arent and people say Yes even they are. Its ridiculous.

I definately agree with you, the customer should be more important. I try to keep it that way, but I also can't get too angry at some reps getting offensive, especially when they are the ones being attacked ...

it's hard not to take offense personally when people flame YOU and not the company as a whole. same way the best way to get results when you call cust care is to be angry at the company and not the rep who is trying to help you. the quickest way to make any rep you enemy is to call THEM stupid instead of the company. fine line but a very notable one I must add.

Exactly. I'll help any customer, treat me as you will, its my job and I REALLY enjoy at the end of the call when you feel like an idiot because I helped you even after the way you treated me. But it is still a thin line and the more you treat us bad the less you will get. I love helping people, I wouldnt be in Customer Service if I didn't. We are people too we deserve some respect.

People on here just feel the same. You have a problem with Cingular fine, but don't take it out on us.

I know how angry customers go..I am in the migrations dept. in Cingular (try explaining to customers that At&T merged but they still need to get a new phone). It's pointless to complain on this website..does that really do anything? There is so much complaining on every forum that it really doesn't pursuade anyone from choosing one company over another. And I hate when customers group all reps as bad, when I've had a couple bad experiences with Verizon, but I know that they aren't all bad. And the same goes with us. I know people around me that I'm not the fondness of, but I know that at least the customers I'm dealing with are getting the help they need and getting the complete truth.

I was posting in the Verizon forum because I wanted input about the phone I'm thinking about getting, and one of the reps starting mocking me saying that I didn't know anything about phones and relating that to the fact I sell phones for cingular. Disapointing to think that they would insult a customer that might be putting down 250 for a phone with a 24 month. It shouldn't matter who I work for.

If I had the common sense I would have cut and pasted the linky for you but I'm not at home and I don't have my firefox running and I have no tabbed browsing. Stupid Internet Exploder.

I stand corrected...he was with US cellular. Still, I don't like to be mocked by anyone. How am I suppost to know CDMA verizon phones when I sell GSM cingular phones. They are like apples and oranges.
