Ogo- Am I Alone?

I often find myself fascinated with different products. One that has fascinated me to a MINOR point... OGO.

Ogo is very similar to the v100 that Voicestream (now T-Mobile) used to carry. Officially (according to http://www.cingular.com/ogosales) Ogo's definition is: Mobile messaging device for IM E-MAIL TEXT.

Unoficially? Its kinda like a 2-way pager with WAP. Text & Data only. No Phone on it.

Am I the only one who thinks that OGO is an abomination? What is the point?

Ogo could have been very successful, had it included a PHONE!

i think that it was a very good idea because a lot of people text more than they talk on the phone. when at&t first rolled out the plan it was 17.00 a month for unlimited text and everything if you had it attached to a post paid account. i think its a good way to keep track of your or your childs spending

I kinda liked the idea. I dont think Cingular has put enough marketing behind it personaly to make it succsesful. but at the monthly price i think it was a pretty good deal, great for parents with text/IM addicted Teens.

I think the Ogo ROCKS!!! I don't care if it's not a phone, THAT'S WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT! I like the fact I can be on my Cingular Motorola V400 which chatting on my Ogo on AIM and Texting. Even if I had a Sidekick I wouldn't use it as a phone cuz if I was on AIM talking to someone or the net and then I got a call, I be mad that it got interupted. Also the Ogo plan RULES!!! $17.99 a month for UNLIMITED Text, Instant Messages, and E-mail Use. YOU CAN'T BEAT THAT!!! I'm a Text Messaging Junkie and the Ogo feeds my Text Messaging Fix!!! I just wish Cingular marketed more it could be a BIG success!

I wish that I could get an OGO...I love the idea..I'm addicted to IM, and I would love to have the ablity to message anywhere. I really really hope cingular picks this up. Can you get one without a post paid plan with cingular? I would buy this in a heart beat.

What makes the Ogo ROCK is that you need NO CONTRACT, NO CREDIT CHECK! You pay every month untill you don't want to use service anymore so you can buy one and activate it on your own. SO SIMPLE GET ONE NOW!!!

I too don not get the pint of text messaging. Its a royal pain to use and a call is much faster and easier. what is the advantage of text messagng. Seems like a fad to me that will wear off once people realize they can actually taslk to the people they are spending a lot of time typing to.

I never use it and if I get a text message I call the person who sent it rather then spend the time typing in words on a tiny keyboard......

I guess its the teen age thing to do when in school and you can't make a call.

well I love to text while I'm a work, or when I'm camping and I can't get enough signal to call somebody, or if I'm in class (I'm in college, and NOT teen age.)
