VZWREPBSC

Apr 13, 2005, 8:48 PM
I called to cancel service and was told twice that they'll put in an order for my service to cancel at the end of my cycle. ๐Ÿ˜ณ I want it cancelled today, I'm not calling on the last day of my cycle ๐Ÿ™„ Hence why I'm calling....

So I called again and asked some probing questions from what I gather the only my account would close is if I ported out right now... What a Joke ๐Ÿคฃ ๐Ÿคฃ ๐Ÿ™„ Myt cycle ends on the 29th. VZW would prorate is it to hard for you guys(Cingular)? ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

thats why i dont get why people on here in the cingular forum are saying that this merger will be good and that the things that they have problems on will go away. then when i attack the company, which is interesting even though i own stock in bls and sbc which owns cingular, they always give excuses. i think its pathetic.

i feel bad for you. i hope you got verizon, atleast i have respect for them.

i am not TRYING to attack cingular, but it happens sometimes. people on here think i am attacking them, however, i am not trying to.

i wasnt saying you, but look at the complaints from the fcc for 2004, their churn, as well as people on here. looks like they dont care, cingular, about the customers. (again churn, complaints, and some people on here)

The FCC is not valid cause you dont know how many of those complaints are actually valid. Its not a valid look at any amount of complaints against any wireless carrier.
...
nextel18

Apr 13, 2005, 10:48 PM
the fcc isnt valid? lol... hahah. i dont care. those are complaints.. see more excuses. it is a perfect way to look at complaints. just becuase cingular, your company, has the highiest level of problems and complaints, doesnt give you the right for saying excuses. by the way, fcc dictates the wireless industry, so what they say goes.

Apr 13, 2005, 10:52 PM
I dont care who's got the most complaints.

If it was Nextel, I'd still say the same. A VALID report would be a report showing ONLY VALID complaints. Not mixed complaints of valid ones and who knows what?

And I didnt say the FCC isnt valid, you need to slow down on your reading.

I said that REPORT ISNT VALID. Looks closer ๐Ÿ˜ณ

"

"

you said that. you say that the fcc isnt valid becuase of those complaints. that means the fcc isnt valid with their facts etc.. which isnt true.

anyway... complaints are complaints regardless. also the complaints are accurate enough becuase they go into what the complaints are usually about. which are; 1. service 2. billing.

A much more accurate way to look at things would be to break it down even further.

I think that complaints about billing in service. That pretty much covers everything. What types of service complaints, What are the billing complaints.

If you look at any company that charges for any kind of service and This includes Cable,Satilite, ISPs, landlines, and Wireless carriers, what are the Complaints gonna be about.

If you guessed Service and Billing, your correct.

Those are way to broad of and area to really grasp at.

Now what I want to see(and will probably never happen because the FCC is way too lazy to put any effort into these so called reports) Is....

A. What Type of Service issues
B. What Type of billing issues
C. H...

yea i guess you have an interesting point, but a complaint is a complaint. it does say one is for service and one is for billing etc... i am just reading what the fcc says. they still have to change that and improve on their problems.

1. customer care problems.
2. billing problems.
3. migration/intergration problems.
4. outages in some areas.

I hate to be the one who brings this up . . . but if Cingular truly is having the sorts of issues that you are saying after absorbing a company that used the same sort of technology - well, that just doesnt' make the future look too bright for Sprint/Nextel trying to integrate two different types of technology. My point - don't rip on the AT&T/Cingular merger too much before you have a chance to see what happens to Sprint/Nextel over the next couple of years or you could find yourself eating an extra large portion of crow. Just my opinion though . . .

no, good points, i understand. HOWEVER cingular/att wireless shouldnt be facing any of these problems as they are right now. yes, there will be some, but not a lot like they are facing now. with the sprint/nextel merger i guess most of you are not understanding one thing. their 800mhz will be contiguous right after the consensus plan. they will also have 1.9ghz. by the way their plan is to have half of nextel's towers on the cdma network by 2007. its a very easy transition becuase if you have contiguous spectrum its very easy to do cdma. all you do is have to add some equpiment here and there and other things.

...
nextel18

Apr 14, 2005, 3:59 PM
how does that sound funny? i dont get it.

what other things? well i am not an RF person but speaking to them, they would have to add some more antennas, put more equpiment on the cell site, and things like that. basically whatever sprint has duplicate that and put it on nextel's under their (nextel's) freq.

It sounded funny to me because it conjured images in my mind of technicians flitting about and strewing random pieces of equipment around at cell towers. I think the guy's that actually install the stuff might have a different perspective on the idea of retrofitting those towers. Also, don't Sprint and Nextel have a lot of overlapping coverage? What would be the point then of retrofitting towers to provide redundant coverage? (I'm not joking around now - I really am asking a serious question).
...
nextel18

Apr 14, 2005, 4:09 PM
i mean i dont want to get into the whole situation with that, i mean i do talk to a lot of RF people and techs who deal with both nextel and sprint so i ask them about these things.

"Also, don't Sprint and Nextel have a lot of overlapping coverage?"

yea, they they do. but according to that guy who said that 800mhz travels further then 1.9ghz that is the same thing in this situation so they might do a dual 1.9ghz/800mhz or something of that sort. sometimes 800 will be strong sometimes the 1.9ghz would be strong. they could have both.

"What would be the point then of retrofitting towers to provide redundant coverage?"

again, to make it stronger. 800 and 1.9ghz are very different. (as i learned on here)

And Napolean Thought invaded Russia in the winter would be a great idea.

Point is you can plan and plan and plan some more. Things I'm sure look great on paper but when it goes into effect will be the true testement to Sprint(Which is also pretty high on the FCC complaint tree) merges nextel into there network and Billing Systems

Also Sprint will have a great deal easier a time integrating Nextel's 7 million customers than Cingular is having with intregrating 20+ million

but cingular/att wireless' managers and execs arent better then sprint/nextel's execs. barry west is the best cto in the land. (read his resume he actually help to deploy gsm )

by the way nextel has 16 million customers not 7. your way off my friend. by then they would probably have maybe 18.5 maybe 20 depending on how it closes and depending how boost does.

you read that wrong my friend.

it says "total nextel subscribers for 2004;"= meaning total net subscriber adds for 2004. in other words, how many subscribers did nextel get in 2004.

"Here you said total subscribers was slightly more than 7 million with Boost mobile included."

again, THATS WHAT THEY GOT FOR 2004.
you miss-read it.

total they have 15 million plus 1.2 million with boost= 17.2 million plus their affiliate in nxtp who has 1.6 million= 18.8 million total subscribers at the end of 2004.

(Periods of suspension of service don't count towards your minimum term.) After that, you'll become a month-to-month customer under this agreement. YOU MUST PAY US UP TO $175 PER WIRELESS PHONE NUMBER AS AN EARLY TERMINATION FEE IF YOU CHOOSE TO END YOUR SERVICE BEFORE BECOMING A MONTH-TO-MONTH CUSTOMER, OR IF WE TERMINATE IT EARLY FOR GOOD CAUSE. The reason you can't cancel today is because you are billed in advance. You've already paid for the service and Cingular isn't going to refund any money because you choose not to use the service. The way the system is set up you pay for the month then use it. You can not use it, but you've already paid for the service and Cingular is contractually obligated to provide the service until the service rendered equals the amount paid.
