Sure it'd be wise. It would be even wiser to buy it inlocked or you wont be able to use it on Cingular's network.

most of America works on 850 and 1900 so I would have to say no. If you mix diff company phones, plans etc you will have a lot more problems with your features, service, etc.

Thats so not true. As long as a person knows how to set up their phone to the network they'll have no problem.

Yeah but I dont think the average customer knows how to set up there phone and to get the correct settings online if they call in and they have a question on there phone we will refer them to the manufacturer if we do not support tehe phone and the manufacturer would not have a clue as to the settings

the only bad side to doing that, even though people do it all the time, is nothing is guaranteed, or supported. If a cingular customer takes a T-Mobile phone and uses it on cingular's network (once unlocked, of course), the phone has not been approved for network use through cingular. No warranty, limited support, and no guarantees. Yeah they can be given the settings, etc, to make mms, wap/xhtml/html and /or internet to work, and more than likely it will. Just need someone to help the guy out with getting it all set up if he doesn't know how already. 🙂

That is all I was trying to imply, was that it's possible and can be done easily by some people, and by some poeople not 🙂
