Does anyone have the 411 on the OGO. I spent the last half hour on the phone trying to get information. If I get the OGO used on ebay, what am I going to have to do to get it all started. Is it prepaid or postpaid? I don't have cingular service, how do I get it without starting a new line of service. I don't want a contract. I currently have Verizon, and I can't add text messaging and I think that this is a great option. Any information would be helpful.

First of all, you would need an AT&T Wireless SIM card, not a Cingular one. I'll have to check on this to be sure, but the ogo may have used a unique sim card, I'll get back to you on that. secondly, the plans are technically post paid, but they have no contract, and are billed very similarly to the old go phone prepaid plans, requiring a recurrent charge to your checking or credit card account.

If you don't have a post paid acct on Cingular Blue, you'd activate the Ogo on its own separate "prepaid" plan. There's no contract and if you don't pay, you get disconnected. There's one plan on the Ogo... 17.99 per month. This monthly fee includes unlimited SMS messaging and one chat portal... Yahoo, MSN or AIM and access to email. I use Yahoo Mail myself.

Additional portals are $3.00 each. Total for Ogo monthly and all three chat portals is 23.99 a month, charged on recurrent payments on credit card (or Visa/MC debit) or checking acct.

There is an activation charge, but I don't remember how much it is... as my acct was activated 6 months ago. 🙂 I think it was around $20.
