Jackie, My fiancee's contract with VZW is expiring, and I want to bring her over to Cingular. She doesn't need anything really fancy (like the things I am obsessed with). What phone should I get for her. I mentioned the 6230 to her, but she is insisting on a flip. What one would you recommend?

Honestly, if you are getting it soon, Samsung E317. Basic camera phone... Or for something a little more sophisticated, the Motorola V551.

I was thinking of doing it within the next month or so....

Right now, she has the Samsung a670 with VZW. Would the e317 be equal to that, or should I just get her the V551?

Well she has the Samsung hook ups already I would stick with samsung 😁

Yeah, but everything is different from the a680 to the e317. It doesn't have a 2.5mm headset port. And I'm not sure about the charger, but that may be different too.

I know that the question was directed at jackie, but you can take my opinion or leave it. I would say the P207, just enough stuff for her to experiment with and maybe eventually have a use for, but not too much stuff. Great online price as well. It will definatly be quite a bit more in the stores.

I don't know if I would with her....because I would porting her number instead of getting a new number like I did.

How would the porting of her number go if I ordered it from the web? Would it port before she gets the Cingular phone shipped to her (thus making her go without a phone for a few days)?

How would the porting work, though? Would they just ship me the phone and the SIM, and then they would port the number when I call in and say I have received the phone? Cause I wouldn't want her to have to go a couple days without a cell phone if they port the number before they ship it.

Well, I do have to talk to her about which phone she wants. And also if she actually does want to switch. And I may just want to roll it into a family talk thing, which could pose a problem with porting (since her VZW phone is in her name). I dunno. I definately am not doing anything today. But it will be soon if I do want to do it.

yep, just checked all of major markets. it's not listed on any price sheets, except the carolinas(where i am). for now it's only sold online, we can't get them in the stores.

yep, just checked TX, NY, CA, GA, none have the p207 listed as a handset for the store, online only. 😢

We have no pricing in our systems yet, not internet not store nothing. 😢

i know, i saw that for other markets. but here in NC/SC, they list it on the price sheet and comparison sheet as web order only.

If we never get those phones in the stores, that will piss me off so bad. That would just be plain dumb on someones behalf. That phone would sell like crazy in stores.
