Unlimited M2M Texting!!!

I just read that VZW is releasing their Unlimited "IN Network" texting plans on Monday, 4/18/05. I was just curious as to whether there is anything like this in the works with Cingular?

I would like to cancel my VZW account since my fiancee's contract with them is expiring and I have a Cingular account that I use for work. But it would be nice if something like that was coming to Cingular soon.

Anyone have any ideas? Just curious cause it seems that anytime Cingy does something, VZW follows, and vice versa.

I highly doubt that they will come out with anything like that. I jsut had a meeting with one of the guys that works for Cingular and he informed me that Cingular is very leary of UNLIMITED plans for features. The best I think that you will get is the unlimited for first month on some of the plans.

Why would they be so leary of UNLIMITED plans for things? Other carriers do it all the time (for WAP, n/w, m2m, now texting). I don't understand the fears. 😕

Cingualr never knows where to price the unlimited pacakges thats all. If they make it to low it hurts ARPU and to high and nobody buys it. That what I was told by marketing for cingulsr.

Well, they are definately too high on the WAP. Looking at what others are doing as an example never hurt anyone.

cingular makes a KILLING off of pay per use text messaging. right now we have 19.99 for 2500 and that's about it. i'd be the first one to add unlimited to my account though if they had it.

Cellular south has unlimited text for $5.99...i would gladly pay 9.99 up to 19.99 for unlimited text...but that's just me.
