Calm Parents with Big Bills

So, do any of you guys ever get the parents of a kid who decides to run up $80.00 worth of Direct Bill Charges and another $75.00 in Wireless Internet charges? I just got that call, and suprisingly enough, the kids parents were pretty calm and respectful towards me. Unlike the calls I normally get where I get yelled out for their "angel" that never does anything wrong!! BS!

But this is the question I ask to the rest of your reps...Do you feel sorry for that kid knowing that he's about to get his ASS WHOOPED? Because they sure didn't take it out on me and besides the normal blaming cingular, he's gotta take the fall for it. đŸ¤Ŗ YA BETTER RUN KID! WHEREVER YOU ARE!

Nope not at all. He is taking the punishment that the kids that do it and get away with it should be getting. He is responsible for the valid charges he created. 😈

i actually had a guy who wanted to know why his bill was $2,000+, i had to tell him it was due to text message overage and the guy just started sobbing, then that led into wails and a story about his problem child and he wished he could ship him back off to live with his mom but she wouldn't take him. I felt really bad for the guy. He didn't dispute it or anything, not even asking for a credit. just wanted a kleenex.. đŸ˜ĸ

hey, the way i saw it was if the guy knew his kid wasn't all there why on earth would the first thing he did when the kid came to stay with him was hand him a text capable cell fone? Good intention, bad decision..

Very true but can you imagine having a kid you obviously love but can't stand? And the kid has to know his parents hate him...

When I first started here back in the day, my trainer told us a story about the highest bill he'd ever seen. A divorced, disgruntled housewife went online and found a textable copy of the bible and sent it to her ex husband. I don't remember the exact amt of the bill, but it was somewhere in the ballpark of $8-10,000.

This whole dynamic just cracks me up - I've seen it many times. The parent comes in with their kid to buy a cell phone. The kid doesn't want one of the entry-level (free) phones, they want a camera/video phone. They throw a temper tantrum and the parent gives in. A month later there back . . . with a $500 dollar bill đŸ˜ŗ Anyone else out there deal with this?

All the time... I don't understand why parents assume that we don't deal with that everyday... The ones that make me laugh are the ones that are waiting in line while I explain the bill to one parent, and when they get to me they are like "Oh, my God... Why was there bill so high?" Without getting to into it I am internet and text messaging... Then when they get their kid a phone and I ask them about it they say,"Joey won't do that, I'll just take the pay per use." Then they are the ones coming in the next month đŸ¤Ŗ It's a vicious cycle. 🙄
