30 day return policy

So I have a question about the 30 day return/trial policy at Cingular. Lets say I buy online from Cingular, and get all my stuff, and love the service, but not the phone. Whats my options at that point? Live with a phone I dont like? Return it all, cancel, and start over? Someway to change out phones easily, without huge outlays of hard to find $$$$?

You have to return the phone to Point of Sale. And then order another one. If you want Online pricing then you kinda have cancel and start all over.
Other wise I believe our Sales Support team may be able to process an exchange.

I don't know if a store could do an exchange with you sending it back to weborders dept....

well my closest store is 1 hour away. so I was going to buy from cingular.com. More than likely I will like the phone just fine, but just was wondering.

We're in the web promotions dept. If you send the phone back and get a tracking number (the tracking number is very important) you should be able to give us a call back and get a new phone shipped to you if it's within the 30 days no problem.

Yes...as long as you are qualified to migrate.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but what would qualify me (or not) to migrate? I had started out wanting the Razr, but now am tempted by the S710i. The only other phone I am considering is the V551, as I want BT and EDGE, but would sacrifice EDGE to have the sleek Razr.

You should be fine, but in my past experience, I would still go through the store even though it is a bit of a hike... You will be more than pleased if you get the S710... Just my suggestion though 🙂

My concern on the s710 is the screen getting damaged? Is it like a PDA screen? Or more like the kind that you get in a clam/flip phone? I've never had scratches on my Sanyo 8100, or my old Nokia 3300 series phone, but thast not a good comparion.

Saw some posts of people putting PDA protectors on the screen, but wonder if its needed, or just a few over cautious people? Its not like I will be throwing around a $400 phone.

If you are worried you can do that.... But my co-workers just carry theirs in a pouch case and it does them just fine. I just believe that the RAZR is extremely overpriced, and lacks features, and think that you will be much happier with the S710 😁

Too bad there isnt a rebate on it like the Razr has! But at $50 more than the Razr, I get EDGE and neater formfactor 🙂 🙂

Definitely worth it... It also has the 1.3 megpixel camera, the 262000 color screen, the video clip capability, the explandable memory... And BETTER signal from the last Philadelphia area update. 😁

the razr is only good for looks. i have the v551 and it's the same phone despite the outside color screen and the size.

if you're wanting to spend that much it's better just going w/ a PDA or something with features that warrant the $400 purchse.

No the way it works is that you have 30 days to cancel your service from date of activation. If you are service is active longer then 72 hours from date of activation, then you can still cancel but the $36.00 start of service fee in non refundable.

You can within the first 30 days swap out different phones for different phones, it does NOT HOWEVER RESTART your 30 days buyers remorse as its a service contract, and if the service is kept on for longer then 30 days then you are under contract.

If you cancel the try to restart you have to restart the ones you cancelled since you can't start up another new account unless the previous cancelled account has been longer then 180 days(They took that from ATTWS 😈 )

Actully the 72 hours thing only applies to purchases in store. Purchases from cingular.com or direct fullfilment(over the phone) have the full 30 days to return it and have the activation fee waived.

If they purchased the phone in a store and returned it withing 72 hours, the activation fees should be waived, regardless of usage.

if they bought it at store, i know the three day period, but if they bought it through our sales over the phone, i was told if there is usage on the phone we wont waive activation fees, i had one that was shipped back 15 days after they bought it, and they were charged activation fees and 15 days of pro-rated usage
