Customer wants us to pay him for driving to a store...

😈 I just took a call from a customer that was angry because he took the time to drive to a store and when he got to the store the store had closed 6 minutes early. He informed me he gets paid $120 per hour and since he took the time out of his day to go to the store, we should pay him $120. Then he wanted us to take off four 411 charges since he girlfriend called 411 for directions and they finally told her she should stop at a gas station and look for directions. Then he was angry that he wasn't recieving his corp discount for his RAZR phone and his $200 plan. Looked at notes and discovered that he was actually in collections and had a number suspended because of collections....not such a big shot now huh? 🤣

Which is stupidese for "I really don't have a dime to my name" or "I couldn't pay a bill on time if you pointed a rocket propelled grenade at my groin".

Don't forget that they have a broken watch. Stores close early if there is really bad weather, but that's about it, so his watch was 6 minutes behind.

I'm terribly fond of the people who ignore SMS late payment warnings and courtesy calls and dunning letters and all the rest, finally get suspended and THEN call up to freak out about how they're "a business person and I NEED my phone, how dare you turn it off for a measly 479.26 past due 67 days, I'm missing some VERY IMPORTANT CALLS!!" and when we tell them they need to make a payme...

Yeah, you'd think I talk to these people all day or somethin'... 🤣

You know, it's not like I'm expecting them to do something out of the ordinary or difficult or anything--I've had a cell phone for five years now, four of them without a landline for backup, and I have never gone over my minutes or been suspended for nonpay. It's not rocket science, people, and we don't love you so much that we're going to give you service indefinitely without being paid. Don't like missing calls? Pay your stupid bill! And don't expect the eye-rolling phone clone care rep to be terribly impressed about how very important you are, because we can see your collection screen and we know what a deadbeat we're talking to... 🙄

Online bill pay RULES! If I never have to deal with another envelope or stamp I'll be a happy camper... My mom's pet peeve is those stupid little "place stamp here" boxes on business envelopes--she says it totally p*sses her off to be TOLD how to stamp an envelope, so she makes a point of putting the stamp ANYWHERE but in the box, and she has all of us in the family doing it too... Subversion of the dominant paradigm runs in the family, it seems... 😛

Yes. My credit union offers such a service...but the automatic payment thing makes me a bit nervous. So I just go to the actual sites and pay there. That way I've got everything in front of me and I know what's coming out and what's going in. Hey, I'm 34 and I've never bounced a check or overextended my checking account.

Nah, mom's side of the family is mostly Irish and Finnish... She's a sweetheart about 99% of the time, but don't cross her or you'll rue it to your dying day--which might be closer than you'd have thought before you messed with her! She owns and runs her own company and keeps those guys in line with the prettiest velvet glove that camouflages her gigantic titanium fist... 🤣

🙄 I'm sure cellunerd would say we should give the poor customer the $120.00 and waive the 411 calls because that's our job and if we don't like it we should quit. This customer is a joke and is one of the ones that if he threatens to leave the proper responce should be don't let the door hit ya in the a$$ on the way out.

Like it was said.. "Drug Dealer" is not a "professional business associate".

Pay your darn bill on time and you won't have to go flying to a store to fix your account!

Once you give that much of a credit to a jackass customer, they will expect it.

(speaking of which I think my wireless is overdo.. be back when I call in the payment) 😲

What's wrong with giving him the money? Maybe not the $120 but at least gas money. There's not a service store in my area, and I've called and said there's a problem with my service (more than one phone having the same problem led me to believe this). I was told to take my phone into a store, which is about an hour away. I'd be royally upset If I took off work early, drove all the way out there to drop it off, and found out they closed a few minutes early.

And don't say anything about my watch, I have all my clocks and watches synced to the government time. Atomic clocks, they're wonderful. If anyone's time is wrong, it's Cingular's.

It didn't say cingular told him to go there. Maybe he was trying to get a new phone and chose to drive on his own free will. Sucks they closed early, but again, where's the proof? Maybe he was late. Maybe if I worked there, and did leave a bit early, I'd give him 1% discount on a product or something. Now, if I usually stayed in the store 20 min. after closing and he walked up after I was closed, well, tough cookies for him.

Ok, last one now.

yea, i understand that point. but give him a discount anyway. your going to make someone unhappy over a few dollars? not a good idea. give him something, i think.
