Get this.. I just got off the phone with lockline because my motorola v400 doesn't charge properly, chooses to stop charging at will, freezes up, and has a broken antenna. So I call up the lady and tell her my situation and she says she needs to know an exact date of when thsi happend. How the heck am I supposed to remember an exact date of when all these things were occuring in my phone!!So, I tell the lady about mid february (the 17th) is when all these symptoms were "unbearable". She says she cnat help me because I have 60 days to take care of my problem. What kind of a stupid rule is that! If my phone is out of warrenty and 60 days rule thing is overpowering me i have to now say that I "lost" my phone just to get this stupid thing replac...

Yea, I hate lockline. You can't tell them anything. They turn it all against you. They have just recently (past year or so) started limiting what phones will be covered by insurance. I won't buy a treo 650 JUST because lockline won't insure it. Too risky with a $600 phone. I hope Cingular finds another insurance company in the near future.
...
T-Mobile does not use LockLine anymore because of these reasons. They now handle all equipment issues internally. When your phone breaks, you call customer service & they order a new (refurbished) one.
Lockline is an abomination. I cant believe Cingular still uses them. Especially when they dont insure every phone. You cant inure a Razr, Treo, or any phone $400 or more.
Also, LockLine is selective with which accounts they insure. My friend signed up for their insurance, but they canceled it because the thought he was a "LIABILITY" from buying new phones frequently.
...
OMFG! I would be pissed.... just thinking that they do that makes me MAD! Lockline is my evil enemy! đŋ
...
That's not true, the S710 is covered... They just don't cover PDA, RIM and pocket PC's as well as the RAZR, but you are right, I don't like them either. âšī¸
...
Oh OK, I was under the impression it was phones over $400. Gotta love the misinformation this site panders.... đ
...
They also don't cover the Nokia 6620
...
last i heard the 6620 was insurable
...
Mine is... I had to get it replaced because my sweet nephew threw it in the dogs water bowl. âšī¸
...
crap! My old boss told me it wasn't when it came out. I could have been NOT telling people that. What a fool I am... đ¤
...
This was recent though... And it has been out for just under a year now, so it is quite possible. đ Don't do that, it's not your fault you boss is wrong. đ
...
I heard that it wasn't... but that was when it first came out. I could very well be wrong. Ill have to check on that for future. Thanks.

Ohhhh no lol...I'm sorry I have to interject, that is NOT the case. T-Mobile uses an insurance provider called Asurion. Th...

I used to work for T-Mobile during the merger.... You never had to pay monthly premiums & they handled everything INHOUSE. The $70 "Out Of Warranty" fee was standard.
When did they start using Asurion????
...
I've been with T-Mobile since Dec 2003, when I left cingular...I don't know about before then, but we've had Asurion since I've worked there at least....Funny thing is their call center is literally across the street from ours...sometimes I'm tempted to throw rocks lol
...
I totally agree with you on Asurion. I make commission when I sell it, but I will actually recommend that a customer NOT get it if they are only getting an entry level phone (cheaper to upgrade or pay the out of warranty charge). Also, they require that you file a nice chunk of paperwork, and replace your phone with a refurb, sometimes not even the same model.
...
oh it's totally not worth it if you're just getting an entry/mid level phone AT ALL...they put you in the interrogation room when you're filing a claim, tons of paperwork...it's a hugh headache...Now if it's a $500 ipaq I'm replacing for $35 (that's soon to change though), and all I've paid is $3.99/mo (thats soon to change, too) then yea...I'd say thats definately worth it!
...
Exactly! And that's the only time that I will actually recommend that the customer get insurance. It's great thing to have on an ipaq or p735 (especially since you can also claim any lost accessories), but definitely not worth it on entry and mid- level phones.
Sometimes I'll have a customer that will want it anyway, and I explain the deductible and that it's not directly through T-Mobile. Invariably, they lose there phone, want our store to give them a new one ('cause they have insurance), and are horrified to learn that there's a deductible (it is insurance after all - what did they expect?).
...
HAHAHA! I knew many things changed when i left. Deutche Telekom wanted to revamp the whole company. That all happened about 6 months after I left. Sometimes I *kinda* miss VoiceStream.
...
I just bought a used T637 phone from Ebay. Theres my insurance policy. no muss no fuss. Just pop in the Sim and go. If I lose it . My bad I'll buy a new SIM.....
...
Thats what i am talkin about! Sometimes ebay can be a rip off though. Just gotta be careful....

I understand where you're coming from . . . but here's the deal with insurance. Some people know that they will have service with a particular carrier for the next year or two. They are perfectly happy with that carrier, and will definitely be using their services for the the next year or two (say a business user or so). They also want a nicer phone that supports some higher end functions (suppose they want to use it as an organizer or PDA, or for e-mail, etc.). The thing is - those sort of phones can be pretty expensive, but you can get a discount for signing a contract. But, if you lose or damage the phone, you'd have to buy another one at full retail, or renew your contract again. Insurance is a nice alternative for higher end hands...
