Thats one of the things they will be changing soon in my opinion. I was appalled 😳 when i learned that the incoming were not free(i got use to them with attws). Was cingular's text policy always like that? If not, I think they did that to capitalize as much as they could before pressure was put on them by the former blue customers migrating over to orange.

I would advise not to hold your breath... 😕 Most carriers don't offer that, so Cingular wouldn't need to offer it to stay competitive. They have their exclusive feature already...roll over.

Most carriers don't offer that???? While I agree that most don't offer free incoming text, I must tell you that VZW just came out with Unlimited "in network" texting for $5.00/month. In my opinion, Cingular needs to do something to keep up with that offer.

I agree. Its hard to get the TMers from Blue side to migrate to orange because I have to tell them that they get charged for recieving. Most can't get past that. Doesn't matter that the TM features get a whole lot more TM in them.

Or at least lower the cost. $0.10 per incoming TM is nuts when Verizons is $0.02 per incoming!

Cingular does not have to do anything to "keep up" with Verizon...Cingular passed Verizon.

Verizon is now doing everything to keep up with Cingular now.

You are correct. All carriers charge for incoming TM. Except Verizons new "In" TM packages but if someone not Verizon sends you a TM you still get charged.

ATTWS was the only provider to give their customers free unlimited Incoming TM. You didn't even need a feature to get it.

It was one of the perks of being with ATTWS. And I suspect that its 1 reason why ATTWS was losing $$$ and is now out of business 😲

Oh really? cool. didn't know.

Rephrase then: ATTWS is the only National Carrier to provide free unlimited Incoming TM 😁

yeah they're the only national one. a lot of the small companies have to stay competetive. Cellular South down here offers unlimited incoming/outgoing text for 5.99 a month. If i didn't work for cingular they would be my first choice. 49.99 unlimited calls + 5.99 unlimited text is a good deal to me.

Thats just it, its not something customer care has access to either this is an ad with a specific 1-800 number they have to call.
