International text messaging I do believe has to be enabled for you to receive them and send them.

That seems odd--it shouldn't make a difference where the SMS is coming from, same as a call, right?

It's a bit like having long distance vs. international long distance. It costs more for routing those type calls , just as it will cost more to route the txt messages.Unless you have the feature on the acct that covers those expenses.

I really don't have a good answer. This sounds like the person sending to you is the one that needs an International txt message feature.

I do belive, when she replies, she needs to dial the country code for the US for it to come back, as per it is a International SMS...just like a phone call.

This is what I think... I think that Infonet can receive from us, but maybe they are unable to send to us? Maybe that is what is going on, unless this is recent that it is occuring, and it worked before... Because maybe it is her side. 😕

I kinda think so too, but isn't weird that on the website cingular says that thay a=have agreements with Telcel which is a CDMA carrier, and not Infonet.... which is the only GSM carrier there....

Just a messaging agreement. I know it is a pain... And I am sorry.... If she can send an email from her phone, have her try sending on to @mycingular.com. That might work, because then she is not sending a "text" to your phone she is sending an email 😁

This is a CINGULAR problem !!!!!
I have had this problem since two years ago. That is one of the reasons I left Cingular. I kept getting the run around, your message recipient should call their providor....bolony!!!!

Cingular could not receive from Rogers in canada ...people called Rogers and they told them Cingular does not have an agreement with them !!!!
ATT worked but not Cingular ...

So it is Cingular who will not test their interfaces with other providors !!!!!! Go figure!!!!

They keep telling you it is the other service providor when it is them !!!!

You know what, you're sooo right! They told me the same thing, that the problem was on their side and blah blah... I had them...

Unfortunately you have no choice with Cingular ... go to another company ... that is the primary reason i don't want to switch back to them from ATT... It looks for GSM you have no choice but T-Mobile ...
