Any idea when the rate plans are going to be revamped? The family plans are crappy.

No, kidding! $19.99 for an extra line if you're not over a $69.99 plan. That's so ridiculous!

If I wanted to switch to a lower cost plan like I do, it wouldnt matter cause it would cost me just as much. These new rate plans are a joke. 🙄

I totally agree. The family plans are pretty much the worst in the industry.

Until we changed the 59.99 to the 19.99...i think we were the same as other carriers. i learned this because i always listen to the "this is how you get screwed" voice that comes on quietly and talks quickly after all these commercials.

That's true, but now it's such a hard sell to migrate blue to orange when they are currently on a 59.99 familytalk. Plus the early evenings is a hard point to push also. Is it really worth all the angry phone calls to just make the 59.99 plan 9.99 also?

Cingular's marketing is not geared towards migrating customers, it is geared towards new customers. Look at the total cost of 2 lines versus any of the competition and it is pretty good all things considered. Better coverage, more minutes, unlimited MTM included.

For a new customer it is a decent value (I didn't say the best because I know there are people who still shop on price first) overall.

i would actually say the marketing is geared toward data, not adding any new customers. if they wanted new customers they would make better plans instead of pushing add ons worth more than the plan people have.

Their advertising does not push add-ons. Once you get in the store most agents and sales representatives are comped extra for pushing data.

Marketing and sales presentation are two entirely different things.

For migrating customers we can still put them on the old 59.99 850 minutes plan if they were on a shared plan on their Former AT&T wireless plan. I'm in the OK/ARK area. Dont know if it works that way anywhere else but some of you reps might check with that.

It does suck, but you would be amazed at the amount of people thatare moving up because there is a 69.99 plan now. It doesn't seem to stop anyone from doing the family talk. It was a great marketing idea. The point is that if you are on a 39.99 FT plan, you might as well go to the 69.99 plan. And I have not had anyone complain or seen a drop in FT activations because of it. I don't like it, becuase I want to do the family talk, so I do see the other side as well.
