BT Headset Problems with RAZR

I have the Motorola BT850 and I use it with both my 6230 and my RAZR. I need help with it pairing with the RAZR.

When I am using my 6230 and a call comes in, all I have to do is flip open the boom mic, and it pairs with the phone and answers the call automatically. I love this.

But when I am using my RAZR and a call comes in, I have to flip open the boom on the headset, then flip open the phone to answer the call. Is there any way to simply have it auto answer when I open the headset with the RAZR???? Please help, because I have called everyone I can at Cingular and no one has helped at all. ☚ī¸

I have the exact same set up as you do (RAZR and HS-850). I also carried the 6230 for a couple of months and yes the Nokia automatically found the phone. Motorolas are not capable of this as you have to pair the devices everytime you disconnect. When I had my SE s710a, it too would automatically find the headset. Aww, the joys of having a Motorola.

I am not having an issue with it pairing with the phone while the call is coming in. It pairs with the RAZR just fine. It is just that I cannot answer the call from the headset without opening the phone. I was able to do this with my V710 (with VZW) and my 6230 does the same thing as the V710.

I just want to be able to flip the headset open, put it on my ear, and say hello. I would even deal with having to press the button on the headset, if I had to, but I think something is wrong when I have to actually flip the headset open (to pair it with the phone) and then flip the phone open to answer the call.

im not taling about pairing. like i mentioned, all you have to do is open the mic and wait for it to connect to the phone (3-7 seconds) then press the silver button on the side to answer. OR if you have the headset on already before the call comes in, you can also set the phone to auto-answer in X seconds so you dont need to press any button...hope this clears things up 😉

This would clear things up if it actually worked. However, it does not. When I flip open the headset, it connects to the phone within 2 seconds. But when I press the button silver button on the side to answer the call, it does not do anything. The phone just keeps ringing until I miss the call or I flip the phone itself open to answer the call.

I am not familiar with that headset, but I know with the HS810 and the Razr or V600 or even 6620, I would not have that problem. Make sure it is powered on....otherwise, thats a new one

afer opening the boom mic, and the headset connects, press the silver "answer" button on the side of the headset. if you have the headset turned on ahead of time, you can set the phone to auto-answer after a set period of time.

Yeah, just as Jinx stated... I am sorry... I have kinda been on my death bed since this weekend and I finally just got your text message because I accidentally left my cell in the hotel I was in in MD. Sorry ☚ī¸ You know that I don't ignore you normally, this was just an extreme case. đŸ˜ĸ

Leaving your cell phone in MD was probably not a good idea. I figured something was wrong when you didn't get back to me. I know you wouldn't purposely ignore me. 😉

I have tried what jinx stated, and it only works sometimes. Most of the time, I will have missed the call before me pressing the button actually registers with the phone. The headset will pair with the phone, but it will not do anything when I press the button to answer the call. In order to answer the call, I actually have to either have the headset paired with the phone prior to the call coming in, or I have to flip open the headset and the phone to answer the call. Is it possible to have it auto-answer when I open the headset like it does with my 6230 and did ...

that might work try that... Also try turning off the flip to answer option and see if that helps (meaning the flip to answer on the phone)... As for leaving the phone in MD, it was an accident, I had a church convention in MD and I left it there, but at least I got it back. 😁
