Got the subsidy Unlock code! Now What?
This maybe a stupid question, But I tried a search and cannot find the answer.
I purchased my New S710A from the local cingular store about a week ago. I called up customer Service and got the subsidy unlock code (not easy but not impossible) They said I could not unlock the phone unless I put in another carriers SIM card. This doesn't sound right as I remember being able to unlock my TREO 600 by entering a few * and # along with the 8 digit number.
Does anyone know how it needs to be entered?

It may be true ๐ For some phones you have to put SIM card first and then after promt enter the code. ๐

Here is how to do it without the another sim card. Only takes a few minutes.
1. For the unlocking of a locked S710A, no Simcard is required.
2. Turn on the handset. Display will indicate โInsert SIM.โย
