Depending on what you want on your plan things like mobile to mobile or nights and weekends, yes.If you were/are with the former attws, and want to migrate, you HAVE to take a contract with migration.

Yeah you can always sign a one year on a new activation or an upgrade (depending on eligibility on the the upgrade). The only time that may cause you an issue is if you are migrating and you have more than 12 months left on the old ATTWS contract. 😁 Hope that helps.

You would be required to start at least a 1 year contract in order to have all benifits, however some features like media net may not work with an unlocked phone, unless it is a New Cingular phone

Thanks. I don't care about media net. (Terrible content when your used to wifi) and with the data billing issues and the responses being generated here ragarding data I would just as soon cripple the data portion of the phone and avoid that night mare altogether. No I just use a phone for a phone . A small notebook for real internet wireless data and a camera for a camera.

No contract is required. Not all plans may be available on a month to month plan. Be sure to purchase a phone from a legit source to ensure proper compatibility.

Thanks. I signed up for one year on a roll over plan and got the s710. I can go month to month after that and keep the plan afterwards.
